What are the age and weight requirements for whitewater rafting?
We don’t have a specific age requirement, but we ask all participants to be at least 50 lbs.
What is the best time to check in for a reservation?
Our main office is open from 9 am to 5 pm. So those are the best times for us to accommodate reservations. If for some reason you expect to arrive at an earlier or later time, please call us at (603) 482-3817 or email us at northernwatersoutfitters@gmail.com
Are there any restaurants or stores near Northern Waters?
There are two restaurants and three stores within walking distance from Northern Waters Outfitters Base Camp. The restaurant options are Northern Exposure, a diner setting and Hawg Trawf, which specializes in bbq. All stores also offer food options as well.
Where’s the best place to by firewood?
Right at our Base Camp! We offer hard and soft wood bundles!
When does Northern Waters Outfitters shut down for the season?
We don’t shut down! We offer campsites all year long!
How long do rafting trips usually take?
Rafting trips take approximately two hours.
What type of clothing should I wear for rafting?
We recommend wearing clothing that you don’t mind getting wet! We also recommend not wearing any cotton material. We offer water shoes and dry tops to wear.
How much does tubing cost?
We charge $5 an hour to tube down a quarter mile section of the Androscoggin River. We recommend paying for the day rate ($20), if you decide to do more than four hours of tubing. Tubing is included for free when booking a rafting trip with us.
What type of discounts do you offer?
We offer discounts for veterans and guides. Free camping for AT hikers and NFCT paddlers.
