Northern Waters Basecamp
Northern Waters Base Camp is located right in downtown Errol, NH, and is a perfect location to return to after a long day of paddling. We are located next to the Androscoggin Rapids right between the dam and bridge. There are twelve primitive tent sites to choose from. Tubes are free to campers depending on availability. Small campers are welcome. Firewood available.
Cedar Stump Campground
Cedar Stump is a remote campsite located on Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust Conservation Land at the end of the rapids, on the Rapid River. RLHT have been working to conserve over 21,000 acres of land since 1991, which are critical to the protection of our waters. This provides recreational opportunities year-round on the Rangeley chain of lakes. Always be courteous to other visitors. Many RLHT trails are multi-use. Everyone deserves to enjoy a positive outdoor experience. Be mindful of your noise level, be a responsible pet owner, and enjoy the natural world.
These sites are accessible by boat or a five mile hike down the carry road from Middle Dam, through the pristine wilderness which Louis Dickinson Rich wrote about in "We Took to the Woods". We have six campsites to choose from. Sites 1-5 are located on your left as you approach from the lake and site 6 is directly on your right. All campsites are equipped with a firepit and a picnic table.
Please note that on Rapid River release weekends, you are required to have a minimum of four people per site. There are no refunds within seven days of your reservation.

Please do not move the rocks around the fire rings and please leave the fire buckets full of water so they don't blow away. (leave a stick in the bucket as an escape for small animals).
DO NOT LEAVE FIRES UNATTENDED!!!
Please stay within the designated sites.
Do not cut live trees.
Clean up after your dog.
Please observe quiet hrs 10 PM to 6 AM
